The Green Lion Is Ceasing Operations

Open letter to Patrick Franssen, founder and (illegal) CEO of The Green Lion.

Dear Patrick,

What a surprise that was when I read, that The Green Lion is having liquidity issues and is ceasing operations.

In case you’re not sure what I’m talking about, let me refresh your memory: Remember that court case that is going on since about 3.5 years which I won in first instance? The one which you keep dragging out with every trick in the book. The one in which the court mandated you to pay me a lot of money, which of course you are refusing to do.

After the latest court appointment in July I was a bit surprised to read that you suggested to the court to pay me a much smaller amount than ordered to and to do so in installments – arguing that you are not able to pay more as your company is having financial issues and is ceasing operations.

I guess this is coming as quite a surprise to your partners as well. Except for…. no, you wouldn’t lie in court in a pitiful attempt to turn around a case you can’t win, would you?

On a more personal note:

The volunteering abroad business is all about trust. Young people are sent around the globe, trusting you to take good care of them. And whenever worried parents contact me, asking me if their kids will be safe given your track record of (covering up) sexual misconduct, one thing that gives them hope is to hear that you are no longer involved in the programs or staying in the volunteer accommodation.

Admitted, you did a pretty good job hiding or removing most of your social media profiles. But if you want your message to be truly believable, you need to stop posting pictures of the lavish private parties you are hosting in the middle of the Hua Hin accommodation. Even in the channels you don’t expect me to find.

One might even argue you should move out that place altogether, away from all the young girls in in bikinis sunbathing right below your terrace and tempting you every day.

Wishing you a good day
